WW II Propaganda Posters

Propaganda grew into an art form during WW II. All major combatants has highly active propaganda departments or agencies.

Posters were just one of many forms of WW II propaganda, and were often colorful and full of patriotic slogans and images.

The 5 Sullivan brothers were lost aboard the light cruiser Juneau.

Their ship was crippled during the night action of Friday the 13th in November 1942 that was fought in Savo Sound off the coast of Guadalcanal.

Juneau was torpedoed the next day as she limped southwards away from the battle.

The loss of all the children of a single family resulted in strict enforcement of the rule that brothers were not allowed to serve on the same ship or in the same unit.
