The photos in this exhibit were taken during the 1944 and 1945 by Richard G. Ray, who served aboard the destroyer escort USS Thornhill (DE-195). He was a Lieutenant (JG) and part of the ASW team. |
The color photos are from September and October of 1945, at Jaluit (usually spelled Yalut in modern sources), in the Marshall Islands. |
