Island Of Death is an operational-tactical simulation of the brutal campaign for Guadalcanal. Spanning the Pacific from Rabaul to the New Hebrides, you will maneuver your forces to gain victory in the struggle for the island that painted its name in history with blood. For 6 months in 1942, the titanic struggle for Guadalcanal left more than 30,000 dead, more than 100 ships sunk, and hundreds of aircraft shot down. The victory the Allies achieved was one of bare survival, but in the end that would be enough to claim strategic success. More than anything else it was the hardasses of the 1st Marine Division that stood versus all comers, and held on when at times they had little or no support. To the Japanese who served there, Guadalcanal would become known as the "Island Of Death". What will the outcome be when you're in command ?
